Required to re-commission and lead a production crew at a newly re-started mine, participate in underground planning, ground control, ventilation, and personnel supervision.

Senior Underground Mine Engineer Role
• Re-commissioning a mine previously placed on care and maintenance.
• Overseeing all production activities in the mine.
• Ensuring optimum performance of the production department and its crews.
• Maximizing mine capacity and recovery.
• Coordinating production in conjunction with maintenance.
• Introducing improvement projects to increase revenue and reduce costs.
• Producing, updating, and upholding operating procedures and safe practices.
• Ensuring all site and government safety, health and environmental procedures and standards are followed by mine personnel, and maintaining close collaboration with the HSE department to ensure all workers are trained in safety and environment matters.
• Acting as Relief Manager when he/she is away.
Senior Underground Mine Engineer Experience and Skill Set Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Mine Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years progressive experience as an underground mine engineer.
• Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
• Strong technical knowledge, ground control, planning and ventilation.
• 5 or more years experience managing and mentoring production crews.
• Aptitudes for working with planning softwares.
• Solid experience in commissioning and/or re-commissioning mines.
• Demonstrated skills in assessment and problem-solving.
• The facility to live and work in Canada.
• Fluency in French and English (mandatory).
