My Client based in Johannesburg is a large, dual listed global mining producer with assets in four continents. The Johannesburg office is responsible for reporting on all African based assets. They currently seek a Head of Financial Planning and Analysis.

Reporting to the Regional Chief Financial Officer, the main function of this role will be the review and co-ordination of financial planning, reporting and analysis. This will include oversight of:

• The preparation of the regional consolidated budget, budget performance reports, forecasts and CAPEX program.
• The monitoring, control and implementation of the regional budget and CAPEX program.
• Regional management reporting for Senior Management and group reporting at a corporate level.
• Project work and techno-economic valuations analysis in support of M&A transactions.

The role requires the ability to analyse complex financial matters while also having the skills to communicate conclusive findings to Senior Management. Strong interpersonal and communication skills will mean the new Head of FP&A is able to liaise with a variety of stakeholders at all levels (including the Executive Management Committee, Site General Managers, and Site Finance Controllers etc).

The successful candidate will come from a management accounting background in the mining industry with a strong knowledge and understanding of ERP systems. A solid knowledge of IFRS will also be necessary. Advanced Excel skills are essential; an understanding of SAP would be an advantage.
