Kumtor Operating Company is seeking experienced Liebherr Shovel Mechanics for its gold operation located in the Kyrgyz Republic, Central Asia. Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, these positions will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of the fleet of 9 Liebherr 9350 Shovels and other mobile fleet equipment when required. The ability to work with, train and develop national mechanics is a key component of this position.

Qualification as a Heavy Duty Mechanic/Fitter, and at least five years specific Liebherr equipment experience is a definite requirement. Maintenance of Caterpillar and/or Hitachi shovels will be added advantage. Experience in the development and support of the PM schedules, spares control and continuous improvement processes will be a highly regarded.

This is 12 month term contracts (renewable) located at the Kumtor mine site. Prior experience in a developing country, or expatriate environment, would be preferred. Well developed interpersonal skills and an aptitude to train will be strong attributes. Ability to pass a comprehensive Medical examination for work at high altitude will be required.

The work schedule is a FIFO, 4 week on, 4 week off rotation. Rotational positions are based at the mine site located at 4000m altitude. An attractive US Dollar salary with normal company benefits is offered.
