Contract Mining - Open Pit Gold, WEST AFRICA

The Project Manager is the senior site based representative and as such is totally responsible for the safe and cost effective management of the day to day mining operations.

For this particular role we are actively seeking a Project Manager who can demonstrate a successful career history in large scale mining operations including management experience with a schedule of rate style contracts. Applicants may have tertiary qualifications (mining / civil) but more importantly at least 10 years senior project management experience in open cut mining.

Primary responsibilities will include the management and control of mining activities to achieve the clients mining plans within budgeted cost parameters, the development of leadership of site personnel and the management of client / company relationships.

At a senior level, the Project Manager is supported by key mining operations, maintenance and administrative staff. Ideally, the successful candidate will have had relevant experience in a developing country. We seek someone with a reputation for achieving results, able to prioritise and organise activities to ensure a monthly performance based result. Communication, commercial and contract interpretive skills must be of a high level.

This opportunity is offered on a single or married status with travel to point of hire. An attractive remuneration package will be offered.
