Regional Health & Safety Manager

Our client, a mid-cap miner with multiple assets currently seeks a Regional Health And Safety Manager to refine, implement and maintain a Health & Safety vision providing Group wide leadership and support across, exploration, development and production. Responsibilities: 

 

  • Develop and implement strategic Health & Safety frameworks & systems 
  • Foster relationships with all levels of management to ensure Health & Safety is the number one priority for all. 
  • Manage ongoing compliance and certification for mandatory code requirements.
  • Partner with in-country leaders to ensure commercial objectives are met while adhering to H&S policy.
  • Develop and manage the risk and hazard planning process. 
  • Foster feedback from below pertinent to improving HSE policies and making it fit for purpose. 
  • Manage H&S budget and resources to ensure they meet the business requirement. 
  • Lead the audit programme inclusive of unscheduled site reviews.
  • Foster relevant external relationships with suppliers and contractors to safeguard H&S performance. 
  • Lead investigations and develop investigation processes. 
  • Review, test and develop emergency management plans across the region.
  • Partner with Occupational Health Services.
  • Provide reports and council to the Executive Management pertinent to Health and Safety. 

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10-15 years’ experience, a relevant Diploma or Degree and hold a relevant accreditation. 

Prior experience of system development and implementation will be well received as will a history of being a lead investigator within natural resources.

 

We can consider both FIFO and Residential candidates as our client is extremely flexible. This is a desirable expatriate location in a highly progressive and growing context.
