My client,  a multi-asset, highly reputable base and precious metals mining company, currently seeks an Operations Director. The asset is a large and well established consistently high producer.

Responsibilities:

• Reporting to VP of Operations leading a significant team.
• Responsibility for production, processing, maintenance, geology, tech services, HR, health and safety and procurement.
• To oversee a mine site team and ensure revenue growth.
• Ensure total operating efficiency in addition to meeting requisite technical standards.
• Enforce and uphold all health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Lead by example and hold all personnel to same level of accountability, meeting the established values and ethics of the company.
• Achieve the short- and long-term targets in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
• Identify and develop areas for cost effective mine growth.
• Develop, enhance, and motivate direct reports.

The ideal candidate will have:

• 10-15 years relevant experience.
• Previous experience developing budgets, forecasting and LOM planning.
• A deep understanding of different mining methods and practices.
• Good working knowledge of all mine site areas, including production, processing, maintenance, geology, tech services, HR, health and safety and procurement.
