This position will be located at the International Purveyor’s Inc. (IPI) Brisbane office.  Position reports to Operations Manager supporting PT Freeport Indonesia’s (PTFI) copper and gold mining operations in Papua, Indonesia.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Manage procurement of assigned commodity group for Stock and Direct Charge orders, ensuring placement of purchase orders in accordance with company policy and procedures, in a timely manner, and at optimum price and delivery.
  • Facilitate and assign Bid Analysis requests to respective buyer/supplier in either Brisbane or US/NOLA office.
  • Facilitate and assign DCPRs to respective buyer/supplier in either Brisbane or US/NOLA office.
  • Negotiate and evaluate supplier contract pricing through assessment against Inventory usage, along with research on market and competitor analysis as required.
  • Interact directly with site operations to maintain understanding of site operation requirements.
  • Maintain ethical supplier relationships and identify best practice benchmarks
  • Measure supplier performance, identify areas for improvement and implement process to provide cost efficient supply chain. 
  • Control expediting of allocated purchase orders to ensure continuous supply of required goods.
  • Maintain understanding of site inventory levels for assigned strategic commodities working with Inventory control to adjust stock levels and ensure service levels for site customers.
  • Provide technical assistance from offsite suppliers to support operation, maintenance, and engineering departments.
  • Monitor the delivery of outbound rotable cores to ensure the delivery lead-time is achieved.
  • Coordinate all offsite administration processes related to the Australian rotable program.
  • Liaise with vendors to assure best pricing, warranty coverage and MDR processes.
  • Assist in developing and monitoring the most efficient and effective logistics and SCM strategies for the Australian centered business.
  • Further enhance the IPI team in Australia and SCM team on site with proven technical expertise.
  • Assist in the review of how rotable costs are balanced against service.
  • Be prepared to visit site regularly to meet with SCM team members and customers.



  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
  • Five (5) years of working experience in mine related procurement, logistics, or related industry.
  • Advanced systems aptitude.
  • Experience & proficiency with SAP or similar Enterprise Asset Management system, as well as proficient in MS Office programs, Outlook / Excel / Word.
  • Proactive, analytical thinker with effective problem solving, time management, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Provide effective and innovative solutions to procurement, logistic, and business processes.
  • Effectively interact with various levels of a diverse cultural organization.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment.
  • High level communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong English skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
