Description: 

To provide technical assistance necessary to manage and oversee the quality and scheduling of rotable components and machine rebuilds that are done by various contractor workshops in the lowlands for Mine Maintenance to ensure activities are run smoothly comply with PTFI policy and procedure.

Based in the highlands, coordinating with Rotable & Long-Term Planning teams, provide assistance necessary to manage the quality & scheduling of rotable components and machine performance, post component installations/rebuilds to ensure PTFI safety policy, procedures & equipment performance KPI’s are met and kept up to OEM recommendations.

 

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Instill a safety-first culture throughout all areas.
  2. Monitor, review and help manage with the various maintenance areas to manage an annual rebuild plan for all underground equipment to meet mine plan expectations.
  3. Monitor and review component performance to ensure quality, lead times and cost effectiveness.
  4. Meet periodically with contractors and user groups to review the effectiveness of the rebuild & PCR programs.
  5. Assist in coordinating with user groups and Maintenance team to develop annual projections for planned component replacement and submit to various shops to allow them to complete their plans, so that all activities are integrated to achieve the determined goal.
  6. Monitor needs, inventory levels, etc. for components to ensure stock outages are limited and do not cause excessive downtime.
  7. Coordinate, with FMI & OEM Warranty teams, all pre-mature failure claims for underground equipment to ensure all information is gathered for Pre-FAR and all parts sent to lowlands for FAR.
  8. Drive continual improvement within work areas to achieve MTBF and MTTR standards.
  9. Monitor product issues and updates, discuss progress and findings with Rotable & Rebuild teams to ensure compliance.
  10. Coordinate with lowland team to assist with any technical or trending issues causing premature failures resulting in reduced component life.  Act as a liaison between highlands maintenance groups and lowlands maintenance groups/vendors to ensure no miscommunication.
  11. Mentor national workforce.

Qualifications

  • Trade certificate or equivalent with a minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in maintenance.
  • Business knowledge through previous experience in leadership roles.
  • Major component & machine rebuild workshop experience.
  • Knowledge in Failure Analysis; ideally CAT FA1 & FA2.
  • Proven experience in conflict resolution.
  • Experience in dealing with multiple entities.
  • Business background with experience in maintenance, repairs, and planning.
  • Computer literacy with Excel, PowerPoint and SAP.
  • Ability to analyze raw data and determine problem areas that need to be addressed.
  • Fluent in English (oral and written) and willing to learn Bahasa.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Managerial and leadership skills.
  • Business communication skills (written and oral).
