Instrumentation and Automation Engineer (Mining / Projects / EPCM / Gold / Operations / Process Plant) – West Africa

Job Description:

Our client is in need of an Instrumentation and Automation Engineer from an EPCM background in gold mining projects to join their team on site in West Africa.

Responsibilities:

• Leading the instrumentation and automation engineering team to safely deliver on all company operational and financial business plans during the project execution phase.
• Reviewing technical documentation and defining engineering requirements.
• Controlling of subcontracted discipline engineering documents.
• Carrying out technical evaluations and preparing technical documentation for instrumentation and systems requisitions.
• Ensuring minimal cost through instrument systems optimization.
• Functional analysis and preparing specifications for instruments, systems and installation.
• Implements instrument detail design on P&ID's.
• Compiling instrument data sheets, loop diagrams and material take-off.
• Performs the F.A.T.
• Mentoring and training of subordinates.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical or Instrumentation Degree.
• Master’s Degree advantageous.
• 10 years previous experience in EPCM environments for gold mining projects.
• 5 years previous experience in operational gold mines.
• Greenfields gold process plant design and construction experience.
• SPI (INtools) knowledge advantageous.
• Previous experience in West Africa.
• Experience mentoring and training multi-cultural teams.
