Description:
Assist the Superintendent Grasberg Block Cave (GBC) Haulage Projects in the planning, coordinating, and building of the GBC Rail Haulage system to include switches, chutes, sidings, systems, communications, and training in order to support GBC Rail Haulage.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Build, repair, and maintain all aspects of the GBC Rail haulage system.
- Guide, train, and direct National Staff and Non-Staff to construct, operate, and repair the GBC Rail Haulage system.
- Develop, coach and motivate counterparts through OJT and other forms of training to enhance skills, knowledge and capabilities within the areas of responsibility.
- Regularly conduct inspections of underground areas of responsibility, in conjunction with National Staff counterparts, to anticipate and minimize problems that may arise in association with the failure of planning, implementation, sequencing, engineering, etc.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification with ten (10) years of experience in Underground Mining practices and supervision or fifteen (15) years of experience in underground mining practices as a front-line supervisor.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Motivated self-starter, flexible, energetic and personable.
- Strong supervisory skills as well as the ability to work in a team environment.
- Competent in handling multiple concurrent projects with using good judgment.
- Competent in rail haulage installation and repair.
- Ability to review and understand equipment, facilities and services to recommend rationalization and centralization of services.
- Ability to work collaboratively with and manage a culturally diversified workforce.
- Expert knowledge of safety practices in underground mining.
- Ability to work unsupervised and handle numerous tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective lines of communication with operating group and other parallel groups throughout the company.
- Achievement Oriented.
- Fluent in English (oral and written) and willing to learn Bahasa.
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred knowledge in latest equipment used for rail maintenance and installation including:
- Ballast Regulators
- Rail Grinding machines
- Ballast Tamping machines
- Thermite welding
- High Rail Excavator
