Description

Under limited supervision, provide application support services to internal clients and business units.  Plan, design, develop, test, coordinate, implement, support and enhance enterprise applications and technical solutions following defined quality and process guidelines. Work with Freeport-McMoRan business units to identify and document business/systems requirements and processes, frequently involving multiple business areas.

  • Work with Freeport-McMoRan business units, the Infrastructure Group and other applications development groups or Freeport-McMoRan customers to define system scope and objectives based on user needs
  • Analyze business and systems needs in terms of functional and technical requirements
  • Identify and evaluate alternative solutions to defined problems and recommend the most appropriate course of action
  • Conduct detailed analysis of defined systems specifications and develop associated design documentation with minimal supervision
  • Select, configure, integrate and implement packaged software solutions where appropriate with minimal supervision
  • Develop, test, implement and support custom business applications and automated solutions with minimal supervision
  • Evaluate and modify existing programs to take into account changes in system requirements, business requirements, equipment configurations or inefficiencies
  • Identify and document procedures for the installation and maintenance of specified business applications
  • Lead in the planning and timing of functional product releases for internally developed or packaged solutions
  • Provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems following identified policies and procedures
  • Perform project management duties with minimal supervision
  • Exercise judgment within loosely defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining results
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with external development partners; analyze and review specifications both from internal and external sources
  • Lead in the adoption of global Freeport-McMoRan standards and methodologies for software development
  • Act as a positive coach/mentor for less experienced staff
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or closely related field and five (5) years progressive experience in application's development, integration and support
  • Extensive knowledge of all phases of the software development life cycle
  • Comprehensive experience working in technical organizations chartered with the creation and support of mission critical business application environments
  • Expert in skills of communication (verbal and written) and influence/persuasion
  • Expert in skills of teamwork and maturation/commitment
  • Ability to direct safety behaviors/practices in all aspects of work, involving self & others

  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards

Preferred Qualfications

  • Experience developing in Microsoft .Net core and C# and JavaScript
  • Experience with SQL server and writing T-SQL queries
  • Front-end native mobile development, preferably in Flutter
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure PaaS services such as functions, web apps, service bus, etc.
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum development methodologies
  • Understanding of Design Patterns
  • Experienced in oAuth and token based authentication
  • Experience in developing and consuming RESTful APIs

Please note: This position has the possibility to work remotely up to 100% of the time. The position will require occasional travel to the Phoenix corporate offices and/or site locations . This position may be performed anywhere in the U.S. except California, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Michigan, Illinois, Kentucky and New York.  Additional states may be excluded from remote work based on business factors.  Should the positions shift to in-office work in the future, the company will offer relocation benefits at that time should the position meet the established eligibility for these benefits.
