Our client, a leading international copper producer with successful complex mines and mineral processing plants, currently seeks a Procurement Superintendent to join their strong Supply Chain team in Africa. This company is a well-established miner with a core focus on employee development and customer satisfaction.

 

The main purpose of the role is to ensure the smooth supply of goods while operating in an ethical and commercially viable way.

 

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the responsibilities of the Procurement Superintendent are:

 

  • Design, implementation and analysis of reports to improve cost-effectiveness.
  • Execution and monitoring of daily procurement.
  • Management of team members.
  • Planning and development of an efficient sourcing strategy.
  • Leading negotiations with key suppliers and maintaining long-lasting relationships.
  • Introducing sustainable policies and procedures.

 

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 6-8 years’ experience in a key supply chain role, ideally in the mining or related industry.

 

We can consider professionals with a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business or a related field, who are also members of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply. Proficiency in ERP systems such as Pronto, JD Edwards or SAP are essential.
