Description:
Provide technical assistance and support to the underground engineering and operations management teams on the scoping, purchasing, implementation, integration, and ongoing operation of an underground mine dispatch system. Also, provide support by analyzing, reviewing, and evaluating manpower requirements, and training requirements. Execute sound project management and change management processes to ensure program goals are achieved in a safe and efficient manner with the budgets allocated and in compliance with the company's policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with related parties to direct, communicate, and control the company's safety, health and environmental policies and procedures implementation, including conducting safety meetings to promote in subordinates the awareness of safety and environmental issues especially when working in an underground mine.
2. Interact with stakeholders of various operations and engineering departments of each mining operation to determine the end user requirements of an underground dispatch system and develop stakeholder requirements into functional requirements that can be used to review commercially available underground dispatch software packages for the best fit.
3. Use knowledge of existing commercial mine dispatch software packages in order to create targeted requests for proposals from vendors in order to determine the best fit software package for PTFI underground operations. Use sound analyses to select the appropriate software package to best meet end user requires.
4. Lead the installation and implementation of an underground mine dispatch software system including coordination with MIS and other key stakeholders as the overall implementation project manager. Manage scope, costs, schedule, and budget of the implementation project, which will include the deployment of a dispatching system at all four operating areas (DMLZ, GBC, Big Gossan, Kucing Liar).
5. Provide professional advice and recommendations for upper management (including NOLA and PHX Strategic Planning Team) on technical and non-technical issues related to dispatch as a basis for their decision-making (i.e. control room layouts, technology systems, maintenance plans, manpower planning, etc.).
6. Mentor dispatch team leadership and front-line employees in the proper utilization of dispatching software tools.
7. Provide deep and broad technical instructional support to National Staff & Non-Staff for all relevant activities within the Dispatch group as guidance to enhance and improve their skills, knowledge, and capabilities to the required level in performing their jobs skills, also to ensure all works comply with international standards, are completed in a safe manner, are within budget, and are on schedule.
8. Assist management with matters of performing and controlling Human Resource decisions and management within the Dispatch Departments (including performance evaluations and personnel development) to improve productivity and performance quality thereby improving overall competency within the department.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Mine Engineering or closely related field of study with minimum of; five (5) years’ experience -OR – Technical Trade school with a minimum of seven (7) years’ experience – OR – High School Diploma with minimum of ten (10) years’ experience, and successfully contributing to a world class Block/Panel Cave mining operations or other large mining operation.
• Proven experience in the scoping, implementation, and ongoing operation of an underground dispatch system at a large block cave operation, or at a regional/corporate level responsible for multiple small / medium mines.
• Experience with PitRam or similar underground dispatching systems.
• Experience with MineStar or similar fleet management system.
• Fluent in English (oral and written) and willing to learn Bahasa.
