$180- 220k USD net + bonus + benefits

 

Our client, a leading copper producer with a portfolio of assets spread across the globe, is currently seeking a Mine Planning Manager to join its growing, dynamic team. The position offers a generous FIFO, very comfortable site conditions and a multi-asset career ladder thanks to their HR strategy and talent retention initiatives. Reporting to the General Manager, the main duties of the role will include but are not limited to:

 

• Implementing and achieving strategic objectives for the underground mine, focusing on short-to-midterm production targets. 

• Cultivating a culture of excellence throughout the mine by fostering relationships that nurture a highly skilled and motivated workforce. 

• Establishing and maintaining effective communication channels with stakeholders and team members to drive company growth and ensure a successful future. 

• Strategically planning and analysing extraction strategies, identifying high-risk areas and critical paths to facilitate informed decision-making. 

• Providing predictive quarterly and monthly schedules to support Life of Mine (LOM) and business plans. 

• Enhancing existing mine designs and scheduling, encompassing all aspects of the mine such as backfill, electrical systems, ventilation, and other infrastructure elements. 

• Enacting strategic decisions and planning cycles to continuously improve operations safely and reduce costs. 

• Enhancing the current underground planning systems to align with pertinent statutory requirements.  

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          

About the candidate:

 

The ideal candidate for this position should possess a Mining Engineering degree or a comparable qualification, accompanied by a solid 15-year track record in a technical capacity within an underground mine specialising in mechanised hard-rock operations. 

As a capable leader, they will possess a deep understanding of how to efficiently cultivate a highly proficient workforce. 

Moreover, the successful applicant will serve as a Competent Person responsible for endorsing underground mine Ore Reserves statements. Their strategic mindset will be evident in their ability to forecast capital expenditure and mining operation budgets, ultimately aiming to optimise the return on investment. Proficiency in French would be considered advantageous.
