Description
Under limited supervision plan, organize, manage and evaluate designated engineering projects and programs, ensuring the successful conclusion of all phases within an appropriate time and at appropriate cost.
- Review, investigate and develop appropriate recommendations regarding assigned engineering projects.
- Manage projects and serve as subject matter expert (SME) on large/complex site planning/construction, expansion or modifications.
- Provide guidance and counsel to the site management team on applicable processes, practices, and existing/proposed local, state and federal regulations.
- Contribute to site strategic planning and budgeting efforts for designated engineering areas.
- Develop and evaluate AFE’s (Authorization for Expenditure) for capital funding requests.
- May evaluate and administer contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment.
- May represent the site on Company sponsored steering committees, task forces, or teams.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Works on complex issues and implements solutions mostly through the determination of strategy and delegation to others in a group or functionalarea.
- Often collaborates with managers and/or functional or site leaders and hassome interaction with external colleagues.
- Works under moderate supervision and has some latitude to set objectives, priorities and timelines that may impact department or individual work group
- Contributes to budget preparation by supplying costs and recommendations. Manages appropriate project budgets for consulting services.
- Manages a specific program or project, but typically does not supervise people
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline and five (5) years related experience in engineering or related field, OR
- Master’s degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline and three (3) years related experience in engineering or related field.
- Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices of engineering
- Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions
- Skilled in managing large/complex engineering projects
- Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a project stage gate process
- Experience and general understanding of multidiscipline mining projects
- Experience in industrial and infrastructure project management
- Experience in mine planning and financial evaluation process
- Experience in collaborating with multidiscipline groups to develop comprehensive scope of work
- Experience in project budgeting and scheduling
Criteria/Conditions:
- Location requires mobility in an office environment; each floor is accessible by elevator. Occasionally work will be performed in a mine, outdoor or manufacturing plant setting.
- Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
- Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 10 pounds.
- Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment.
- Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.

Compensation:
The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $89.000-$125,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
