Position Summary

This position is a key member of the Taca Taca team, responsible for the environmental and overall permitting activities, land and rights, and related functions for the project and its operations.

The Coordinator will align with First Quantum group commitments on Environmental Social Governance (ESG) topics and policies, as well as complying with all relevant statutory requirements and laws.

The candidate should have proven and high technical, knowledge skills and background ideally, in large scale mining and familiarity with the industry throughout all its stages.

This role also requires regular dealings with various external and internal stakeholders. It is required for the candidate to have solid and proven communication skills targetted to the goalds of the role.

Responsibilities

* Support the permitting and land acquisition activities associated with the Taca Taca Project and further mine development
* Coordinate the preparation, updates and modification of EIAs (Environmental Impact Studies) and required for the project construction and further operation
* Coordinate workshops for the authorities on the current, modified or new EIAs
* Development of environmental management plans for the project and the mine
* Develop permitting analysis, matrixes and permit applications including the preparation and review of technical documents in line with the applicable regulation, business standards and Company policies
* Support and collaboration to the technical area of ​​geology from the environmental point of view and permits in field campaigns
* Continuous review of EIA requirements of the Taca Taca project at each stage of its development
* Develop Scope of Work (SoW) and manage processes in relation to consultants involved in the preparation of EIAs and EIAs complementary studies and reports
* Engage with relevant government authorities involved in the permitting and land approvals and authorizations
* Lead field activities deriving from the day to day operation at the site in compliance with the EIAs commitments and applicable regulations and standards
* Lead and participate in field inspections and technical meetings associated with permitting and land activities
* Lead technical audits (internal, government, others)
* Progress reporting on permitting status and & or land acquisition
* Control of environmental data bases required for project operativeness and compliance from and environmental perspective
* Preparation of internal and external reports associated with permitting and land activities
* Permitting schedules and timelines

Qualifications, knowledge and experience

* Fluency in Spanish and English - written and spoken
* Environmental engineering, mining engineering, geology or related careers
* Master degree in Environmental engineering or Project management
* Preferred candidates will have minimum 10 years of professional experience, with particular experience in mining
* Experience in EIAs preparation, audits and Environmental Management and Compliance Systems
* Experience working in the field and remote sites
* Experience working with highly technical documents (drawings, reports, etc.) associated to mining on its exploration, feasibility, construction, commissioning and operations phases
* Knowledge and familiarity with local legislation and international business standards applicable to mining from and environmental perspective
* MS Office
* Project planning softwares
* Geographyc Information Systems (GIS) knowledge
* Driver's license
* Ability to work collaboratively with various work teams
