Description
Assist operations in resolving land and water right issues, in order to secure sufficient land and water resources to support operations and protect share holder value.
- Prepare land and water audits and other land and water right reports, and assist operations in resolving land and water rights issues
- Lead specific land and water rights research projects; develop Scopes of Work and RFPs; procure and supervise consultants, administer projects, manage budgets, and edit reports
- Conduct land and water right related regulatory and technical research
- Provide assistance to operations with land and water right applications, land and well permitting, and regulatory water use reporting
- Manage land and water issues tracking, land and water rights databases, and land and water asset valuation databases
- Assist in evaluating of water supply issues and planning
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, Hydrology, Political Science, Environmental Resource Management or equivalent experience, and five (5) years experience related to water rights regulation and administration, including planning, project management and database administration
- Knowledge and understanding of applicable water right policies and water laws and regulations as they apply to the various mining operations
- Excellent research skills; ability to conduct Internet research and analyze land water related policies, laws and regulations and to draw valid conclusions
- Ability to take the initiative and manage issues proactively
- Ability to use appropriate analytical and problem solving techniques and software, think creatively to conceive innovative solutions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
- Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) Certification
Preferred
- Competent with GIS software
- Basic knowledge of hydrogeology
- Basic knowledge of real estate transactions
- Familiarity with the 1872 Mining Law
- Basic accounting skills
- Project management experience

Compensation:
The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $79,000-$109,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process. Safety / Work Conditions:
