This home office position will be located in the United Kingdom.
Markets and sells the Company's products and services to existing and developmental major accounts and distributors. This person develops and maintains strong customer relationships (coordinated globally when appropriate) with various levels and functions to assure effective implementation of market and product strategies that create value for the organization and the customer. This is a senior position requiring chemicals and metallurgical additive or steel industry sales experience and is characterized by a sustained record of sales achievement in value selling and the areas of marketing, product management and sales.
Additional responsibilities:
  • Sells Company's products and services to major accounts in a broad and diverse geographical region and provides market feedback and intelligence to management
  • Handles sales contract negotiations at a high level, but with defined limits of discretion and maintains the relationships necessary to achieve “spot” sales when appropriate
  • Understands customers' needs/wants and collaborates with all stakeholders to provide product offering with agreed/negotiated specifications
  • Manages Company's relationship with distributors providing volume and pricing direction as well as marketing and strategic updates
  • Aligns sales efforts toward achieving intermediate and long-term strategic goals
  • Provide accurate forecasts to the Company over various time horizons in order to optimize value creation for the customer and company
  • Practices and leverages a safety culture in all aspects of the job
  • Perform other duties as required


  • BS in Business, Marketing, Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, or other related area
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in sales/marketing development or account management in the chemical industry, with additional metallurgical experience preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Sustained record of achievement in value selling and marketing, product management and sales
  • Goal driven; works well independently and is a self-starter. Demonstrated work history of working with minimal supervision in home office environment while delivering measurable results
  • Capable of analyzing and interpreting marketing data, developing plans, providing specific recommendations, tracking and aligning results
  • Strong computer skills; Word, Excel, PowerPoint and similar. ERP capable
  • Organized and flexible to manage shifting priorities and address problems as they arise
  • Work is performed mainly in a home office or business office setting
  • Periodic visits to company and customer laboratory or manufacturing sites
  • Willing to travel 50 to 70% of the time by car, train and air
