To provide technical expertise in resource estimation of mineral deposits and accurate geology models of the deposits relevant features in accordance with international industry standards and scheduled release programs to develop the national staff in resource estimation and geology modeling procedures.

Additional responsibilities:

1.Develop department short and long-term goals and objectives in line with the company overall objectives and goals and propose it to manager, in order to support overall company’s objectives achievement.

2.Plan the work effort of the area assigned, ensuring that resources are properly allocated to the projects or programs to ensure completion of the department and company goals.

3.Review and control geology models of the mineral deposits geologic features that are relevant to resource estimation, according to schedule and using all relevant drill hole sampling and logging information available.

4.Review and control all stages of resource estimation and geology modeling in order to ensure all are documented and done with the quality necessary to support operations and that this documentation is available for internal and external professional auditing.

5.Train and develop national staff in the technical aspects of resource estimation and geology modeling in order to improve skills.

6.Provide comprehensive technical advice and timely information to Management with regards to problems and proposed solutions on a regular basis in order to resolve the problem.

7.Understand and be aware of safety and environmental practices in the assigned area in order to ensure safe work practices.

8.Oversee the completion of other tasks assigned by management on a regular basis in order to ensure complete closure.

Additional Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish the key parameters and methodologies to utilize in the different stages of developing resource estimates of the Company’s mineral deposit.
  • Establish the impact that different geologic features have on resource estimates and the technical manner to incorporate them in the final resource estimates.
  • Establish criteria required by international standards to classify mineral resources for reporting and engineering purposes.
  • Develop appropriate criteria to assess the performance of resource models according to reconciliation and production reports.
  • Modify resource estimation parameters and methodologies according to reconciliation and production reports.Assess its impact and recommended course of action.


·         Bachelor’s (S1) Degree / Master of Science Degree/Doctoral Degree-PhD is preferred, qualification in Geosciences, Geologic Engineering or Mining Engineering with minimum of fifteen (15) years’ experience in the mineral geology industry (mining/ or exploration).

·         Proficiency in geologic, mining engineering and geostatistical principles.

·         Sound background, based on experience in the practical application of resource estimation, geology modeling and Geostatistics.

·         Experience in ore control and short-term mine planning.

·         Must be able to meet the qualifications for ‘Competent Person’ and ‘Qualified Person’ for the purposes of certifying resource/reserve statements, as defined in the JORC and other applicable international standards.

·         Demonstrated ability in the production of technical documentations and reports.

·         Strong problem solving and judgmental skills is required.

·         Strong ability to communicate highly technical procedures and results to others both inside and outside the immediate group.

·         Strong supervisory, leadership mentoring skills for the development of national staff technical skills.

·         Strong analytical thinking skills.

·         Ability to work in a culturally diversified workforce.

·         Strong computer skills.

·         Strong English skills, both oral and written.

·         Basic level of the Indonesian language in understanding and oral (preferable but not essential).

·         High level communication skills.
