Job Description: 
A leading consulting engineering company is looking to employ a Tailings Dam Engineer with 20+ years’ experience in Waste and Tailings fields and a good working knowledge of mining infrastructure.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Design and development of waste sites
  • Damn design and Irrigation Schemes
  • Landfill closure modelling
  • Supervision experience of Pollution Control Dams (PCD’s) and Waste Containment Facilities (hazardous and general)
  • Coal mine water balance
  • Must have a good working knowledge of miming infrastructure and infrastructure inspection of coal mines
     
 
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
  • Must have a minimum of a B Sc. or B Eng. in Civil Engineering, with a Masters highly beneficial
  • Must be a professionally registered engineer
  • Minimum of 20+ years’ relevant experience in the Waste and Tailings fields
  • Experience with design, construction, surveillance and annual audits of mine residue deposits (MRD)
  • Competent in MS Office
