Resource Optimisation Manager

Reporting to the Divisional Head, this position will be responsible for day-to-day administration of policies and programs covering: travel, medical, staffing, accommodation, housing, education, compliance, and other resource optimization functions. Under broad direction will lead the Resource Optimization activities for the Division. Responsible for implementing new RO processes and continuously improving existing ones under direction from the General Manager and Corporate. Builds and maintains open, accepting, and trusting relationships with customers to achieve business goals. Adapts and coordinates Group practices to ensure they are compliant with local government and/or legislation and local market conditions. Manages projects and provides leadership in Resource Optimization matters to appropriate management teams.

Key responsibilities:

  • Delivers Resource Optimization service and support to the Division.
  • Works closely with the GM and other Department Managers to implement correct policies and processes as well as the introduction of new initiatives and programs
  • Works with the GM and other Department Managers to ensure parity and fairness across the site
    Working with the GM and Department Managers supports the localisation plan and provides resources and guidance for implementation
  • Manages the Divisional Resource Optimization teams to ensure smooth operation of the RO function
  • Co-ordinates the required medicals for new hires and existing employees
  • Provides ongoing coaching and counselling to managers for the effective management of employees across all RO disciplines
  • Gives advice on business structure and retention programs
  • Deals with the administrative aspects for employees separating from the company
  • Ensures timely delivery of accurate data
  • Responsible for management and maintenance of employee data for the Division
  • Manages the administration of medical claims
  • Works with Corporate to implement new systems and processes in accordance with company policy
  • Divisional Resource Optimization budget

Additional scope:

  • Builds relationships with other Resource Optimization team members across the Group
  • Builds and maintain a network with external RO practitioners

Qualifications and experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in Administration or related field.
  • 6 - 8 years' experience in a broad Administration management role.
  • Prior experience of working in Africa
