Environmental Cordinator – Compliance, Rehabilitataion and Monitoring

Environmental management compliance, progressive rehabilitation and environmental monitoring requirements. The role involves supervising the environmental management team, advise middle management and employees on environmental management requirements, develop and implement procedures and management plans and liaison with government on environmental management performance and compliance requirements.

Location: Kalumbila (140km west of Solwezi)  Site: Sentinel

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct environmental monitoring and environmental compliance activities.
  • Administration, Supervision and Personnel Development.
  • Annual environmental planning, implementation and checking.
  • Environmental Emergency Response activities
  • Develop and implement Environmental Awareness activities
  • Plan and implement progressive rehabilitation activities
  • Pollution prevention and mitigation measures.
  • Environmental incident investigations and mitigation.
  • Conduct internal inspections and audits.
  • General waste management supervision.  

Expected deliverables will be measured are per Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Environmental Compliance KPIs
  • Progressive Rehabilitation KPIs
  • Environmental Monitoring KPIs

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Environmental management in general
  • Environmental law and compliance requirements
  • Leadership skills
  • Knowledge and experience with Environmental Management System (EMS).
  • At least 3 years' experience in environmental

Qualifications:

  • Full Grade twelve certificate.
  • At least a Bachelor of Science in a relevant field and minimum of 3 years' experience in environmental management. Maturity, hands-on attitude, self-supervision, team spirit and proactivity are key attributes for the job.
  • A valid driving license is required.
