Bald Mountain is an open-pit mine with a large estimated mineral resource base located in Nevada. It is the newest mine in Kinross’ portfolio and was acquired in January 2016.

Job Description

Set up and maintain the mobile maintenance tool room.  Perform routine checks, tests, gauging, and inspection of tools.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Set up and maintain tool room and keep area organized.
  2. Check tools out to maintenance and operations personnel.
  3. Receive tools and complete tool inspections.
  4. Keep and accurate, orderly, and accessible tool inventory.
  5. Ensure tool room is supplied with working tools by coordinating with supervisors as needed.
  6. Build hydraulic hoses as needed.
  7. Punctuality and regular attendance is required.
  8. Meet or exceed established performance expectations set by management.
  9. Compliance with all company policies and procedures including but not limited to safety, confidentiality, and environmental policies.
  10. Possession of a valid driver’s license issued by the state.
  11. Work safely in all areas and identify potential safety hazards and work with management to correct them.
  12. Work without significant risk of harm to self and others.
  13. Perform other duties as required.

Education and Experience

  1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.  Employee must have sufficient education to read and write instructions, perform simple mathematical calculations, and keep records.
  2. Working knowledge of maintenance tools preferred.
  3. Strong working knowledge and skill with a PC utilizing on site database system preferred.
  4. Must be able to perform basic tool rebuilds.
  5. Experience in building hydraulic hoses preferred.
  6. Must be able to work closely with tool vendors.
  7. Ability to identify and remove from service any defective tooling.
  8. Ability to work without constant, direct supervision.
  9. Ability to work with others in a team environment.
  10. Must have solid verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read and understand repair manuals and schematics.
  11. Ability to function within the qualifications outlined in the attached physical demands sheets.
  12. Progression through the wage scale is contingent upon satisfactory completion of attached checklists.
