Serve as the primary contact to Global Business Partners, site management and employees regarding all facets of immigration and assignee taxes. Use knowledge of immigration rules, policies and resources which is critical to success of assignee management and the management of foreign employees at our company locations. Ensures Company compliance in the areas of tax, immigration and assignee management in North America, Peru, Chile, Africa and Europe.
  • Functional expert in the areas of tax and immigration providing information directly, via teleconference, and through company presentation to ensure Company adherence to immigration and tax related issues/concerns (e.g. 1-9 compliance, work authorization (internationally and domestic), and Tax Equalization process)
  • Maintains close relationships with external immigration legal counsels to monitor and ensure correct immigration process and mitigation of Company risks/exposure (e.g. weekly docket calls)
  • Provides training on International HR systems, policies and processes
  • Oversees, updates and implements the mobilization and demobilization process
  • Oversees assignees' pay and interacts with NOLA (New Orleans, LA) to ensure pay is accurate and pursuant to assignee agreement
  • Conducts quarterly audits of assignee pay, Goods & Services, and premiums
  • Serves as SharePoint Administrator, LinkE trainer and super-user; and validates data in all systems and ensures information reflected is accurate and corresponds to other systems of record
  • Works on project teams to support Corporate HR initiatives as well as International HR program implementation and changes (Sr. Generalist team, benefits implementation, LinkE upgrade, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or closely related area, AND
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in administering international programs (orientation, assignee management, services, etc.), and advising on matters of immigration at all levels

  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
  • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
  • Position is in busy, non-smoking office located in downtown Phoenix, AZ
  • Location requires mobility in an office environment; each floor is accessible by elevator
  • Occasionally work will be performed in a mine, outdoor or manufacturing plant setting
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk
  • Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to ten (10) pounds
  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required
