African Mining Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ausdrill Limited, provides contract surface mining and mineral exploration drilling to the mining sector in West Africa.

AMS is seeking a highly motivated Senior Project Scheduler with at least 3-5 years of experience developing and maintaining detailed resource loaded project schedules using MS Project. The candidate will direct the Project Mobilisation Management Team with the Project Management office.

This position will work to advance the adoption of Project Management methodologies across AMS Mining contracts, as well as enhance project management-related processes, schedule reporting, and executive communications. The candidate needs to be well-organized, with excellent English written and communication skills. French language skills will be highly regarded. This position will be located initially in West Africa.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain an integrated Master Schedule, Generate Project Schedules, Milestone charts and other project management functions used to support the success of this role
• Coordinate and support the team in the planning, tracking, analysis, estimating and reporting of current and new projects/tasks
• Develop schedule version control processes, policies, and procedures and assist in ensuring they are followed on schedule
• Work in collaboration with Project/Program Management team to drive consistency and accuracy of the project scheduling
• Identify major milestones, decision points, project life-cycle and other project events
• Troubleshoot and monitor potential scheduling issues
• Facilitate and participate in weekly/monthly schedule reviews and report updates of contract status
• Provide exceptional client and customer support skills
• Train and mentor National workforce

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor or Diploma in Project Management, Engineering or Business
• 3-5 years direct experience in developing and maintaining detailed resource loaded project schedules
• Strong working experience in MS Project and MS Office applications
• Strong English verbal and written communication skills. Fluent grasp of the French language will be highly regarded
• Experience working in Africa

The ability to adapt to a developing country environment and willingness to travel is essential.
