The BTP Group services the mining industry in Zambia, Southern Africa and is now seeking the services of a

                      Technical Advisor – Electrical

               Heavy Mobile Mining Equipment

                            6-12 month contract

The ideal candidate will have a relevant trade background and strong working knowledge of mobile mining equipment and the ability to work closely with our client’s maintenance team to maximise reliability, cost effectiveness and availability of equipment.

To be considered, you will have a reputation for achieving results and possess:

·     Relevant Automotive Electrical Trade qualification including air conditioning

·     Electrical and technical knowledge of a range of equipment

·     Experience in Caterpillar diagnosis, repair and maintenance

·     High proficiency in the use of CAT SIS and ET

·     5-10 years’ experience in a similar role;

·     Licenced to drive manual transmission vehicles

·     Well versed in the use of Microsoft Office;

·     Superior communication skills;

·     Desireable-experience with working in developing countries- preferably Africa;

·     Strong understanding of workplace and mine site safety standards

·     Ability to successfully pass an Overseas medical to both the Company and Client standards

As this role encompasses a broad scope of skills, your role entails working directly with our client and will include- but not be limited to:

·     Working within both BTP, and their clients, Operating Principles and Protocols,

·     Attend breakdowns and assist the Customer in diagnosing faults and failures

·     Act as leading hand for all proven warranty events

·     Mentor, provide instructions and help develop skills of the Customer’s electrical maintenance personnel

·     Consult with and assist the Customer on all scheduled maintenance

·     Assist in the planning of scheduled maintenance work for equipment

·     Workflow scheduling,

·     Improving quality control on all repairs carried out,

·     Liaising with both Shift Supervisors and Reliability Engineers,

·     Regular inspections of equipment

·     Provide commissioning assistance during parts and component change-outs

·     Ensure all installation & commissioning reports are comprehensively completed

We offer an attractive expatriate remuneration package on single status for tours that are based on 9 weeks in-country and 3 weeks R&R to Point of Hire or alternatively on a residential basis.
