Planning Engineer - Surpac

Duties:

* Responsible for final, interim and staged designs from 5-yearly to monthly production, designs of waste dumps, ore pads, haul roads, drainage and dewatering schemes.
* Development of bench plans showing pit design, ramps, levels and faces; provision of overlays for ore distribution and blending, haulage, dewatering, electrification and so on.
* Designs and plans must incorporate mining techniques and methodologies for large scale bulk mining for ultra class trucks (approx. 400 tonne) and electric rope shovels.
* Integrity and quality of existing designs, plans and topographical data.
* Scheduling of ore, waste, process feed, stockpiles, backfill and blending if required, up to a 5-year period.
* Close liaison with corporate planning, production engineers, geologists and metallurgists to provide accurate designs, base plans, production schedules and mining costs.
* The primary requirement is an excellent knowledge of Surpac for mine planning.

Qualification & Experience:

* Excellent knowledge of Surpac is the primary requirement.
* A minimum of 3 years as a mining professional working at a specialist level in an open-pit; mining engineers, geologists, computer professionals and any other with a good mining background will be considered, provided the demonstrable Surpac skills are there.
* Training will be given in mine planning.
* A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
* Knowledge of MS Office especially Word and Excel.

* Spanish is advantage
