Under supervision of a Senior Geologist, complete logging of drill samples, geologic mapping, sampling and assist in the completion of resource block models.
  • Perform logging of core and reverse circulation drill cuttings
  • Perform geologic mapping of surface and underground areas
  • Assist Senior Geologist with the interpretation of all geological data (e.g. rock type, alteration, and structure), assay, and mineralogical data into internally consistent cross sections and level plans
  • Work with a team of Geologists in the completion of computerized resource block models that meet corporate modeling standards
  • Prepare and update drill hole database, maps of deposits and other exploration records
  • Perform rock chip sampling or soil surveys
  • Perform other duties as required

    • Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Geology or closely related field with no experience required

Qualifications

Preferred

  • Master's degree in Geology
  • Hard rock geology field camp and/or internships
  • Good mineral identification and estimation skills
  • Field experience with hard rock mining, data collection, mineral characterization and core logging
  • Coursework and thesis in Economic Geology

  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
  • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
  • Work is in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see
  • May be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 60 pounds) during the course of the workday
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, or manufacturing plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required
