Key Responsibilities:
* Manage & Supervise the Rigging and Scaffolding department.
* Coordinate the operation of the Salvage Yard.
* Ensure Statutory compliance is maintained.
* Risk identification & management within the Rigging, Heavy Lift & Scaffold sections.
* Developing and management of lifting plans & rigging studies throughout the plant.
Qualifications:
* Appropriate Certification in Rigging & Crane operation.
* EIZ membership certification.
Skills & Experience:
* Minimum of 10-15 years' experience in a maintenance role.
* At least 5 years' experience at a supervisory/ management level.

POSITION'S HOLDER'S REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge, Training & Experience Required:
* An appropriate certification and extensive experience in Rigging, Crane Operation & Scaffolding in both fixed plant and mobile equipment environments.
* Minimum of 10-15 years' experience in a maintenance role.
* At least 5 years in a senior supervisory role.
* Experience in high output environments with a high safety awareness aptitude.
Practical/Specialist Skills:
* Knowledge of MS Office and Pronto or other enterprise systems.
* Hands-on skills and experience with heavy lifting, rigging & scaffolding exposure is essential.
* Previous experience with a large fleet operation would be well regarded.
* Demonstrable experience with maintenance management systems will be an advantage.
Other Skills or Competencies:
* The ability and drive to manage safety and risk in a technically challenging and geographically remote maintenance environment.
* Sound planning, analytical, and problem solving skills.
* Well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills in English.
HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT
Contribute to the management of the health and safety risks related to all aspects of mining & plant equipment maintenance by;
* Assisting in implementing and improving safety systems and procedures as required by the Zambian mines regulations.
* Contributing to the identification of the significant Health and safety risks and impacts related to heavy maintenance workshops including those related to identified applicable legislation.
* Development and implementation of plans/controls to mitigate significant health and safety risks in your Section.
* Ensuring that the Material Handling section personnel have the necessary competencies, awareness and training to effectively manage the health and safety risks in their areas.
* Ensuring that incidents related to health, safety or the environment are reported and assist in investigations to identify any additional controls required.
Safety Performance
* Ensure that the continuous improvement principles are applied to the health and safety programs in your Section.
* Ensure that Statutory inspections are completed on time and that Mandatory Statutory compliance registers are maintained according to MSD requirements.
* Perform daily prestart meetings.
* Attend and/or conduct regular monthly safety meetings.
* Ensure the Section builds and uses SOP's relevant to their work.
* Actively promote continuous improvement in safety performance throughout the workforce.
* Conduct informal safety audits of tasks being undertaken in your area on a regular basis.
