Job Description

Contribute to the implementation of the strategy for the geology team; to ensure alignment with the organization’s long-term strategy and to ensure service and / or operating standards are met (internally and / or externally).  Design and develop processes, practices and methodologies for the geology team.  Ensure continued growth of the team and to maximize operational efficiencies, safety, and profitability.

Job Responsibilities

Responsible for geological interpretation and resource estimation supporting the company’s operations, exploration and merger and acquisitions activities.

Assists in establishing best practice processes as they relate to grade control, reconciliation and resource modelling at the company’s operations.

Assists with the consolidation of the company’s resources and reserve estimates at the corporate level.

Monitors regulatory compliance with respect to mineral resource and mineral reserve estimates.

Provides geological and resource modelling support of operations and development projects.

Participates in due diligence reviews and compilation of engineering studies.

Develops understanding of surface and underground mine engineering, metallurgical testing, mineral processing, cost estimation and construction methodologies.

Occasionally travels to various sites globally.

Management of multiple technological projects simultaneously

Education and Experience

• University degree in Geology is required (Master’s degree preferred)
• Additional specialized education of up to 4 years
• Formal professional or technical registration in appropriate area of expertise preferred

• 6 - 10 years of related work experience or equivalent; preferably in mining industry
• Knowledge and experience in preparing and updating reserve technical reports and documentation to ensure compliance with industry and operational requirements
• Knowledge and experience in compiling and interpreting geologic and assay data that will assist in solving grade distribution questions (ore-waste boundaries, dilution) and facilitates efficient mining
