We have an opening for a Chief Operating Officer to work for a London based, AIM listed marble quarrying and processing company with operations in the UK and Europe. This role would suit an experienced professional looking to make their mark in an expanding internationally focused company.

Applicants should have at least 5 years experience in the quarrying or dimensional stone business and be highly flexible and enthusiastic. Candidates will need excellent communication skills, and an ability to liaise with senior positions across the industry.  Previous experience in sales and marketing would be a major advantage.

The successful candidate will report directly to the CEO, with the expectation that this will develop into a board level position over a one to two year time frame.

The role will include:

• Management of sales team and business development including:
o Serving as a key member of the sales team in helping to drive overall strategy;
o Developing sales pipeline by engaging with prospective and existing clients and key customers;
o Overseeing Project completion and follow up to ensure customer satisfaction;
o Developing long-term strategic partnerships in support of the key markets; and
o Prepare and give business reviews to the CEO regarding progress.
• Supervision and management of international quarrying operations including:
o Monitoring quarry production levels and output quality;
o Liaising with sales and commercial teams to balance sales and output;
o Undertaking regular site inspections and risk assessments;
o Liaising with staff on site and dealing with any technical or staffing challenges that arise;
o Managing procurement process; and
o Designing and implementing a quality control process over raw and finished product.
