Drill Rig Supervisors

Avesoro Resources are seeking Supervisors for Maintenance & Repairing of Sandvik Drill Rigs to work at our New Liberty Gold Mine in Liberia (West Africa)

The role of the Drill Rig Supervisor is to ensure min %85 availability of the Sandvik Drill Rigs, especially 1500i models. He needs to follow and check the drill rigs continuously and organize the working of drill rig employees for repairing and maintenance works.

Main Responsibilities:

• Plans and oversees scheduled maintenance/electrical/mechanical operations
• Plans the required spare parts and consumables for drill rigs to ensure minimum %85 availability
• Monitors the efficiency of the drill rigs
• Provides guidance and supervises maintenance/repairing employees
• Tours and inspects mine to detect and resolve maintenance/electrical/ mechanical issues
• Complies with established methodologies and quality standards related to maintenance/electrical/ mechanical operations while at the same time recommending new or alternate approaches
• Responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all activities related to maintenance/electrical/ mechanical operations
• Maximizes equipment utilization and minimizes downtime
• Monitors, analyses, and implements changes to ensure maintenance is preventative, predictive, and proactive
• Maintains high availability of equipment while maintaining or reducing costs, without having much control on the verification and use of equipment daily.
• Executes maintenance and asset optimization schedules
• Meets maintenance safety, equipment availability and cost objectives


• Technical Diploma in a related field or equivalent experience
• Certified Mechanical or Electrical Journeyman or Maintenance Technician / Technologist Certificate
• 8 - 10 years’ experience in an Open Pit or Underground Mine.
• Minimum 3 years of experience at a supervisor level.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written, with both internal and external contacts and the ability to work with all levels of the organization.
• Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented.
• Must be able to handle a high level of confidentiality.
• Ability to work with others in a team environment.
• Ability to organize and prioritize job duties.
• Pleasant and courteous in interpersonal interactions.
