Assist the Manager Underground Tech Services to provide engineering, planning and project management for the Underground Division’s four Underground Mines, in order to support all corporate safety and production targets, goals, polices and plans. The technical services division supports production, ventilation and manpower across all underground mines.
Additional responsibilities:
1.         Direct, communicate, and control the company's safety, health and environmental policies and procedures implementation, including conducting safety meetings in order to promote in all personnel the awareness of safety and environmental issues especially when working in an underground environment where high risks and limited space exists.
2.         Provide project management support and assistance (planning, performance monitoring, communications with all parties, etc.) for the Underground Division and on-going Division projects in order to ensure high-quality performance of the projects.
3.         Assist the Manager to provide work requirements, performance expectations, calculations, cost estimates and other technical aspects as needed for internal and external contract writing and negotiation.
4.         Interface directly with other departments of the Underground Divisions to ensure safe and smooth operations and job performance.
5.         Monitor and ensure that the work on the various projects’ are appropriate and meet PTFI safety standards, quality standards and work procedures.
6.         Perform and/or participate in solving issues that arise between various parties performing work in order to ensure that the projects can run in a safe and efficient manner.
7.         Develop and maintain effective communication channels with relevant parties (UG Mines Division, Mine Contractors, Project Management, Mine Maintenance, Central Services, Project Controls, etc.) in order to meet the project’s schedule and safety goals in a cost effective manner.
8.         Develop the skill and knowledge of National Staff and Non-Staff in order to ensure all counterparts are trained and advanced to the limit of their capabilities.


  • Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Mining Engineering or a closely related degree field.
  • Ten (10) years of experience in underground mining operations, construction and contract work
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work in a culturally diversified workforce.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong English skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • High level communication and presentation skills.
  • Concern for Safety and Environment - An underlying drive to create a safe working environment and prevention of accidents in the surrounding environment.
  • Achievement Orientation - Highly oriented in achieving targets and improving performance; creates own measures of excellence, meticulous in ensuring accuracy of work.
 Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic level of the Indonesian language in understanding and oral (preferable but not essential).
