Job Description

The officer will report directly to the Communications Coordinator, providing daily support in the management of media and the production of communication content.

Responsibilities: the officer ensures the media monitoring on a regular basis (weekly as monthly) and assists in producing communication contents. External communications include advertising messages for internet banners, social media and billboards, as it may also include press releases prepared under the supervision of the coordinator.

The Officer has also the day to day responsibility to oversee purchases or service requests made to local suppliers and to perform various administrative tasks such as submitting CRs or PRs for approval and processing invoices for payment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Produce the weekly media monitoring and monthly media report.
  • Translate documents when needed: for media monitoring as other duties.
  • Monitor and Oversee digital communication by producing and updating content for TMLSA’s digital platform: internet website / Facebook / YouTube.
  • Ensure that digital contents align with the corporate policies and messages and develop social media contents which support or promote company goals.
  • Support for the publication of Supply Chain announcements in TMLSA website.
  • Assist the Communications Coordinator in managing media relations: administrative support for media engagement plan, site visits documentation, assistance producing fact sheets for hostile articles, key messages ….
  • Support the Communications Coordinator with the production of communication contents: press releases, internet banners, presentations (PowerPoints, brochures, posters….).
  • Processes Contract Requests, Purchase Orders as Invoice payments for the department and holds and submits a tracking sheet reviewed every month to avoid late payments.
  • Hold archives of Pictures and Video databases on hard drives for Communications department.
  • Contribute periodically to the production of internal communications contents: Kinross World, Tasiast monthly newsletter, internal messages….
  • Assist the Communication Coordinator with any relevant tasks.

Education and Experience

  • Have a Bachelor or Licence in Communications, Media, Business, Languages or Literature.
  • A prior experience of 1 -2 years in Communication Services is preferred


  • Should be proficient in at least 2 of the 3 languages used (Arabic, English, French).
  • Have good communication skills for social media releases as knowledge of advertising practices.
  • Have good/excellent writing skills and be able to produce messages or releases when required.
