The Kinross Corporate Head Office is located in downtown Toronto and supports Kinross operations and projects worldwide. Corporate functions include Finance, Procurement, Health & Safety, Human Resources, IT and Investor Relations.

Job Description

Reporting to the Director, Global Business Applications and PMO, the incumbent will be a key member of the IT team, managing, designing, developing and coordinating all corporate office initiated IT training globally. He/she will:

  • Provide best practices in end user training for IT applications and tools adoption
  • Communicate regularly with corporate and site managers to identify training gaps and map out specific plans to address them
  • Require solid knowledge of IT training tools, techniques and methods in a multinational corporation, including but not limited to instructor-led training, on-the-job coaching, and eLearning.

Job Responsibilities

  •          Conduct company-wide IT training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps to be addressed
  •          Map out annual training plans for all IT users by region, site and department
  •          Actively market available IT training and provide training information to site management and staff
  •          Design and develop in-house IT training programs that will significantly improve the adoption of IT applications and tools
  •          Evaluate, research and recommend external IT training providers when appropriate to meet the needs of a particular project or initiative
  •          Collaborate with Manager, Learning & Development, internal IT, other functional stakeholders (including functional Business Process Owners), and liaise with subject matter experts (SMEs) to deliver on identified training needs
  •          Host train-the-trainer sessions for internal trainers including subject matter experts, BPO, site based super users and trainers
  •          Gather feedback from trainers/SMEs and trainees after each educational session to assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skills and KPIs
  •          Develop and foster relationship with site training resources
  •          Research, evaluate and recommend various training methodologies and technology, appropriate for different IT initiatives and projects to optimize user adoption
  •          Review and improve existing IT training policies and ensure they are communicated and enforced
  •          Some administrative work required related to maintaining and updating training material, as well as tracking and reporting training completion and results

Education and Experience

Education

  •        Minimum of Bachelor degree; related to IT, Adult Education, HR or Commerce
  •         Certification in adult learning, instructional design or facilitation an asset

Experience

  •        Verifiable 7 years work experience in a professional training role
  •         Minimum 5 years experience in instructional design with proven results in completing the full instructional design cycle and aligned to the key principles of adult learning
  •         Extensive experience as a training facilitator, in ILT, online and virtual classroom; IT related topics and audience an asset
  •         Hands-on experience with the deployment of business applications training such as Oracle JD Edwards is an asset
  •         Extensive, hands-on experience with learning management systems, content authoring tools, web delivery tools, and eLearning platforms
  •         Strong hands-on experience coordinating multiple training events in a corporate and site setting
  •         Experience managing vendor relationships
