Location: Round Mountain, Nevada, USA

Round Mountain is an open-pit mine located in Nevada, one of the best mining jurisdictions in the world. The mine uses conventional open-pit mining methods and processes ore by mill and heap leach.

Job Description

Under the direct supervision of the Process General Foreman, the incumbent will oversee the daily operation of all Leach Pad functions to ensure that it is operating at its utmost capacity in a safe and efficient manner

Job Responsibilities

  • Complete paperwork, including all training documentation, environmental reports, safety inspections, pressure checks, flow adjustments and reports.
  • Supervise seasonal pad work on dedicated pads.
  • Schedule and oversee special projects.
  • Input shift data into computer systems.
  • Diagnose potential problems with pad flows, pressure checks and adjustments needed. Responsible for maintenance to side slopes and all dedicated pads.
  • Generate work orders, pick tickets, purchase requests, review warehouse inventory and send and receive mail.
  • Oversee needed training for crew members as needed.
  • Schedule work assignments and prioritize crew activities in consultation with the General Foreman

Education and Experience

  • Ability to complete all necessary paperwork accurately in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge of the JD Edwards system.
  • Basic computer skills- Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Demonstration of some initial troubleshooting skills on the leach pads.
  • Must have a good understanding of all training requirements.
  • Complete compliance to all RMGC and MSHA safety regulations is a must.
  • Must have general knowledge of company rules and policies so that decisions made are in conformance with company requirements.
  • Previous leach pad experience is preferred.
  • Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • General understanding of mining operations, as well as limited understanding of milling and maintenance operations.
  • Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
  • Ability to work independently and also as a member of the management team.
  • Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills
  • Ability to function within the qualifications outlined in the attached physical demands sheets.
  • Must be 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis.
  • Requires valid driver’s license.
