Job Responsibilities

Includes but not limited to:

  • Answers queries and handles requests related to survey services
  • Follows established policies and procedures related to survey services and complies with established methodologies and quality standards
  • Help Senior surveyor to prepares mark ups / stakes; establishes survey control in field and issues drawings for excavation / construction
  • Help to provide survey marks to allow development of the mine to correct dimensions and grade
  • Assists Senior Surveyor to survey, calculate, and check month-end production figures
  • Help to update emergency response plans showing refuge chambers and escape ways
  • Help to analyze information related to survey services which may include generating basic reports, reviewing them for accuracy, and monitoring overall quality
  • Transport, assemble, dismantle and maintain surveying equipment

Education and Experience

·         Technical Diploma in civil construction/ Mining Engineering survey or equivalent

·         At least 1 year of previous experience as a Surveyor assistant

·         A commitment to developing and supporting a safe and effective workplace;

·         Good knowledge of  MS Office

·         Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in French.Good level in English is an asset

·         Basic knowledge of Trimble GPS survey equipment and the Trimble S3 & S6 total stations

·         Demonstrate a good safety culture


·         Understanding of mining practices.

·         Understanding of safety in a mining area.

·         Able to work accurately and carefully in all environments.

·         Good power of observation.

·         Ability to work with others in a team environment

·         Willingness to work in adverse weather conditions required
