Job Description

Provide expertise and knowledge to support Underground production activities and resources including manpower and equipment, to achieve the determined production targets in a safe and efficient manner within the allocated budget and in compliance with company's policies, procedures, goals and objectives.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Provide assistance to direct, communicate, and control company's safety, health and environmental policies and procedures including conduct safety meeting, in order to promote subordinates awareness of safety and environmental issues especially working in Underground, which has a high-risk environment.
  • Provide assistance to direct and control production activities including mucking-loading- hauling and secondary blasting, to ensure they are executed in a safe and efficient manner and ensure the targets are achieved and in compliance with the determined plan from Underground Engineering Department.
  • Provide assistance to direct Production Staff especially Shift Superintendent to ensure they are aware about the machine/equipment performance and the affected operation cost.
  • Review operation budget to prevent over budget expenditure and ensure the unit cost target is achieved.
  • Direct and control advanced technologies application to improve production process, develop global risk analysis on the implementation to prevent any other production process disturbance.
  • Use MineGem / MineStar systems and protocols to ensure draw compliance at wet muck area is at a minimum of 70% DP compliance.
  • Use MineStar and MineSite technology included automation system for rock breaker and chute that will help future operation in the expansion mines.
  • Provide assistance to manage and control communication or information linking between upper level and lower level to prevent misunderstanding, which can be impacted to production achievement.
  • Establish and maintain relationship with major department internally (such as UG Technical Services, UG Safety, etc.) and externally (such as Mine Maintenance, PSU, Material Management, SRM, HR-IR, etc.) to keep and ensure good safety record, achieve production target, optimize equipment utilization, and identify any possibility of the potential disturbance and other any support requirement in regard with Production operation.


  • Bachelor’s (S1) Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent with at least ten (10) years of working experience in related field, such as Block Cave Mine, in both technical and operating roles.
  • Experience with Cave Management in a complex Caving Mine.
  • Proven experience especially in underground mining operations, to be able to understand and control the whole mining process of production operations, using explosive, materials, and various underground mining equipment.
  • Alternatively, a minimum of fifteen (15) years proven applicable underground mining experience without formal qualifications.
  • Concern for Safety and Environment. 
  • Expert knowledge of safety practices in underground mine.
  • Expert knowledge of and experience with all underground mine methodologies and equipment.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • High level communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong English skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Highly proactive and achievement oriented.
  • Highly focused toward satisfying customer requirements.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic level of the Indonesian language in understanding and oral (preferable but not essential).
