Job Description

Assist the Manager of Common Infrastructure Project Logistics (CIP) Operations in management of, Logistics, Bussing, Contracts, Shaft Operations, CIP construction and maintenance, and CIP Road Maintenance. 
Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Direct, communicate and control the company’s safety, health and environmental policies and procedures implementation, including conducting safety meetings in order to promote in subordinates the awareness of safety and environmental issues especially when working in an underground environment where high risks and limited space exists.
  2. Interact with and ensure consistent and clear communication between PTFI and contractor personnel to ensure that there is clear understanding on the awareness of the importance of safety, engineering design considerations and the effect of cost control and project management.
  3. Ensure that the GBC Shaft is operated so that the flow of personnel and material up and down the shaft is executed safely and is well coordinated.
  4. Help manager to manage and control communications or information flow between upper level and lower level personnel to prevent misunderstanding in communication that would have impacts on the design, implementation and development of the Common Infrastructure Project (CIP).
  5. Ensure that the CIP surface and underground roads are well maintained along with water management within the underground mines.
  6. Ensure that waste rock material is hauled out of the mine and delivered to the CIP crushing plant.
  7. Establish and maintain business relationships with major internal and external departments, including: UG Engineering, UG Maintenance, Mill-Oreflow, UG Construction, all UG Contractors, Safety, Material Management, Security, RUC, and PT Redpath Indonesia so that all targets are achieved, optimization of time and talents of personnel, and monitor the potential for civil disturbance in project areas, as well as other project support requirements.
  8. Help manager manage and administer all contracts within the UG Division to include contracts outside UG Division responsibilities.
  9. Help manager oversee the movement of employees and supplies into and out of all of our UG mines.
  10. Transfer knowledge to National work staff.


  • Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Mining, Civil, Mechanical, or Transportation Engineering with ten (10) years of experience in Underground Mining with an emphasis on logistics and shaft operations or fifteen (15) years of experience in underground mining practices as a front line supervisor with an emphasis on logistics and shaft operations.
  • Proven experience, especially in underground mining operations, to be able to understand and control the movement of personnel and material into the underground mines.
  • Experience in working in large complex mines in remote locations.
  • Experience in managing materials in an underground mine.
  • Experience in dealing with contractors, bussing, slope stabilization and road maintenance.
  • Experience in developing a logistical team that will deliver all the personnel and materials underground.
  • Experience in state of the art dispatch system.
  • Concern for Safety and Environment – An underlying drive to create a safe working environment and prevention of accidents in the surrounding environment.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment.

  • Strong English skills, both oral and written.

    Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic level of the Indonesian language in understanding and oral (preferable but not essential).
