The Kinross Corporate Head Office is located in downtown Toronto and supports Kinross operations and projects worldwide. Corporate functions include Finance, Procurement, Health & Safety, Human Resources, IT and Investor Relations.

Job Description

We are looking for a passionate individual to join our Information Technology team. The successful individual will be a key member of the IT team, managing, designing, developing and coordinating all corporate office initiated IT training globally. The successful individual will:

  • Develop and execute on end user IT training strategy and governance
  • Deploy best practices in end user training for business applications, cybersecurity and IT tools
  • Regularly conduct training needs analysis to identify training gaps and map out specific plans to address them
  • Require solid knowledge of IT training tools, techniques and methods for the end users in a multinational corporation such as instructor-led training, on-the-job coaching and eLearning.

Job Responsibilities

·       Conduct company-wide IT training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps to be addressed

·       Map out annual training plans for all IT users by region, site and department

·       Actively market available IT training content and provide training information to site management and staff

·       Design and develop end user IT training programs that will significantly improve the adoption of IT applications, cybersecurity and IT tools

·       Evaluate, research and recommend external IT training providers when appropriate to meet the needs of IT project or initiative

·       Collaborate with the Manager, Learning & Development, internal IT and functional stakeholders (including Business Process Owners), and liaise with subject matter experts (SMEs) to deliver required training

·       Conduct train-the-trainer workshops for internal trainers including subject matter experts, BPO, site based super users and trainers

·       Develop metrics for measuring IT training effectiveness. Create mechanisms to gather feedback from trainers/SMEs and trainees after each educational session to assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skills and KPIs

·       Develop and foster relationships with site training department and resources

·       Research, evaluate and recommend various training methodologies and technologies for different IT initiatives and projects to optimize user adoption

·       Review and improve existing IT training policies and ensure they are communicated and enforced

Education and Experience

Education

  •        Minimum of Bachelor degree; related to IT, Adult Education, HR or Commerce

Experience

  •        3-5 years experience in a training coordination or management role.
  •        Hands-on experience with learning management systems, content authoring tools, web delivery tools, and eLearning platforms
  •        Hands-on experience coordinating training events in a corporate and site setting
  •        Experience managing vendor relationships
  •        Hands-on experience coordinating end users training on an ERP implementation as well as Cybersecurity training is an asset


Experience

  •        Verifiable 7 years work experience in a professional training role
  •         Minimum 5 years experience in instructional design with proven results in completing the full instructional design cycle and aligned to the key principles of adult learning
  •         Extensive experience as a training facilitator, in ILT, online and virtual classroom; IT related topics and audience an asset
  •         Hands-on experience with the deployment of business applications training such as Oracle JD Edwards is an asset
  •         Extensive, hands-on experience with learning management systems, content authoring tools, web delivery tools, and eLearning platforms
  •         Strong hands-on experience coordinating multiple training events in a corporate and site setting
  •         Experience managing vendor relationships

Skills and Travel

·       Proficient in MS Office

·       Advanced organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

·       Strong communication, presentation, collaboration and relationship building skills

·       Ability to influence and motivate others in a positive manner

·       Effective in providing feedback, coaching and guidance to learners

·       Creative, adaptive, self-starter and continuous learner with passion for end user training

·       Ability to speak other languages such as Portuguese, Russian, French, Spanish, is an asset, but not a requirement. 

Travel

·       Potential for up to 20% travel
