Job Description

Assist and provide technical expertise to the DWP plant manager to monitor and control functions of the de-watering plant and ship loading facilities, support major plant improvement projects and assist in developing the operating financial plan/budget to ensure the plant can perform in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
Additional Responsibilities:
1.           Review and assist in the development of SOP's which promote best safety practices and develop personnel safety awareness ensuring a safe working culture and environment thereby minimizing accident damage to DWP personnel, plant and equipment.
2.           Assist and provide technical expertise in monitoring waste dumping and concentrate spillage is controlled and contained in predefined areas.
3.           Assist and provide expertise to monitor, control and maintain the shipping process on schedule in order to meet company commitments and goals.
4.           Assist and provide operational expertise for all the areas and systems utilized at Port Site area in order to assure all groups are working in a cohesive and integrated manner.
5.           Advise maintenance and operational personnel in the development of integrated maintenance schedules with appropriate plans and procedures, which support and ensure production targets are achieved.
6.           Provide expertise to assist in developing and implementing continuous process improvement culture supporting all DWP and ship loading operations and advise on any plant expansions as may be required.
7.           Provide financial expertise to assist in developing and implementing effective and efficient systems, which provide for cost effective production.
8.           Provide expertise to assist in developing and conducting the daily, weekly and monthly reports detailing production, safety and planning for future production goals.
9.           Advise on the implementation of effective monitoring of all resources to ensure budgets are maintained within set limits.
10.         Interface with international vendors and consultants as required.


  • Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Metallurgy or Mineral Processing or related discipline with five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • Or Chemistry background, Metallurgical knowledge, Mineral Process knowledge. Minimum of ten (10) years of Mineral Processing in a large scale, complex mining operation.
  • Extensive knowledge of dewatering process that fosters PTFI's environmental responsibilities.
  • General mining maintenance experience.
  • Competent in management and leadership.
  • Competent in institute reporting system.
  • Competent in MS Office standard computer operation.
  • Competent in manpower budget strategy.
  • Competent in interpersonal communication.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment.
  • Strong English skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Highly proactive and achievement oriented.
  • Highly focused toward satisfying customer requirements.
  • Ability to work in a culturally diversified workforce.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic level of the Indonesian language in understanding and oral (preferable but not essential)
