Job Description

Assist the Superintendent of GBC Engineering in creating and managing an updated project schedule of development, constructions and operation of medium to long term plans and technical activities at Grasberg Block Cave (GBC) project.
Additional Responsibilities:
1.            Direct, communicate, and control the company's safety, health and environmental policies and procedures implementation, including conducting safety meetings in order to promote in all personnel the awareness of safety and environmental issues especially when working in a large scale, complex underground environment where high risks and limited space exists.
2.            Support the Engineering Group in scheduling development and construction activities based on updated development and construction status and forecast of activities, peer review the resulting schedule to ensure activities are executed properly.
3.            Coordinate with Design Group to modify planned designs by their updated revisions and insertion in the existing schedule. This includes recoding of all activities to match the requirements of the project's cost model.
4.            Develop and maintain Quarterly report of updated project schedule, including development and constructions plans, variance analysis, cost and manpower estimates in order for department to have updated information.
5.            Inform Construction Groups supporting the project with project changes and update the project schedule with construction changes to give the latest information within the group.
6.            Lead GBC representation in the master schedule initiative to ensure timely delivery of latest schedule modifications.
7.            Maintain an update database of project changes, impact on cost and schedules of changes in design compared to feasibility study plan and budget in order to have easier access to data when needed.
8.            Work closely with the GBC Engineering department updating short-term project schedule to get heads up with the short-term planning.
9.            Develop, coach, and motivate subordinates to enhance their skill, knowledge and capability to share knowledge with all employees.


  • Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Mining Engineering with a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in large scale, complex UG operation, UG development project or UG mining engineering with proven practice in mine design.
  • Proficiency utilizing design software such as ACAD, Vulcan or similar; and scheduling packages (M24D/EPS) or similar.
  • Concern for Safety and Environment - An underlying drive to create a safe working environment and prevention of accidents in the surrounding environment.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment.

  • Strong English skills, both oral and written.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic level of the Indonesian language in understanding and oral (preferable but not essential).
