Job Description

Plan, implement, control, and maintain the technical and engineering aspects of the ventilation system in underground mine areas by in-depth analysis and concepts, to support the operations of Underground Mine, and mentor the counterparts to enhance and boost the transfer of technology, skills and knowledge in these tasks and duties.
Additional Responsibilities:
1.            Observe the implementation of safety and environmental standards and procedures within work area to minimize accident and damages to equipment.
2.            Develop, coach, and motivate counterparts through OJT and other form of trainings to enhance skill, knowledge and capability of the counterparts.
3.            Provide total engineering initiatives and applications for underground fans that include costs calculation, spare parts management, design, installation, all kinds of maintenance, as well as QC/QA, in collaboration with superior, other departments, vendors, electricians and mechanics, to support the operations of ventilation system in Underground department.
4.            Provide total engineering initiatives and applications for ventilation doors that include costs calculation, spare parts management, design, installation, all kinds of maintenance, as well as QC/QA, in collaboration with superior, other departments, vendors, electricians and mechanics, to support the operations of ventilation system in Underground department.
5.            Provide total engineering initiatives and applications for underground dust collectors that include costs calculation, spare parts management, design, installation, all kinds of maintenance, as well as QC/QA, in collaboration with superior, other departments, vendors, electricians and mechanics, to support the operations of ventilation system in Underground department.
6.            Develop medium and long-term plans that cover the scientific calculations for ventilation shafts, drifts, number of fans, doors, and other related necessities by analyzing the ever-developing underground mine, to provide ventilation engineering for the mine.
7.            Develop and calibrate mine ventilation models using dedicated software such as the VNETPC and CLIMSIM. Apply these models to determine fan duties and size ventilation control devices to match the airflow requirements. Compare the simulator results against the field data, to ensure reliable predictions.
8.            Coordinate with Biding section of Finance and Accounting Department on the purchase of new equipment such as fans, regulators, etc., by providing the necessary information and ensure that the purchase is made in a most efficient and effective manner.
9.            Prepare AFE for new capital projects with appropriate justifications, and ensure that these are written to PTFI standards and follow up till this is approved.
10.          Perform necessary administrative tasks related to capital projects including quality control on construction jobs, "punch lists" and commissioning documents, and prepare reports for superiors for review.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (S1) in Engineering specializing in Mine Ventilation, with minimum experience of five (5) years in mine ventilation.
  • Knowledge in environmental hazards, as well as monitoring and control methods.
  • Willing to develop a sustainable ventilation system in underground mine.
  • Capability to produce AFE, ESR, and reports.
  • Project Management.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • High level communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong English skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Highly proactive and achievement oriented.
  • Highly focused toward satisfying customer requirements.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a culturally diversified workforce.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master in Engineering (S2), specializing in Mine Ventilation.
  • Basic level of the Indonesian language in understanding and oral (preferable but not essential).
