Senior Mining Engineer - Truro Cornwall

Wardell Armstrong (WA) is a successful multi-disciplinary UK owned and based consultancy with 12 offices throughout the UK employing nearly 500 staff. Wardell Armstrong International (WAI) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Wardell Armstrong, and is responsible for international mining activities executed from its main office in Truro, Cornwall, as well as from offices in Moscow and Almaty.

WAI is now seeking an experienced Mining Engineer at Principal or Associate Director level to be based in our Truro office, Cornwall, UK, to help with an ever-increasing workload.

Responsibilities and Skills required:

WAI is looking to employ a highly experienced Mining Engineer with underground and open pit experience to join our expanding Mining department at the Truro office. The work will involve all stages of mining, ranging from, mine optimisation, mine design and scheduling through to economic evaluations and Ore Reserve estimates. This work is conducted at various levels from Scoping Study and Technical Diligence through to Feasibility Studies.

A Chartered Engineer with experience of Competent Persons and Reserve Reporting would be advantageous and the successful candidate should have also undertaken a senior management role within their experience and have a proven track record delivering projects on time, to budget and to the client’s satisfaction.
WAI uses Datamine Studio 5DP and Dassult Whittle, mine planning software and a working knowledge of such software is preferred. The role will involve working in a multi-disciplinary team on a range of projects including leading projects as Project Manager in the UK and overseas with International travel forming part of the role.

Qualifications:
A successful candidate will require:

• Education to Degree level in Mining Engineering.
• Hold Chartered Engineer status.
• 10 to 20 years post graduate mining experience.
• Previous Consultancy experience desired but not essential.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• The ambition and drive to develop as a professional.
• Ability to develop business.
• Full driving licence
