Senior Project Engineer – Dewatering



My client, a large mining company with a significant open pit asset in Franco Africa currently seeks a Senior Project Engineer – Dewatering to join a growing and progressive team.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager and developing a team, the Senior Project Engineer – Dewatering will manage and maintain the current dewatering systems while implementing change to improve the water levels from where they are currently.

The role will be responsible to manage the in-pit sumps, pumps and pumping stations, pipelines, conduits and channelling required to keep the pit floors and walls free of standing water. The management of the dewatering systems will involve a strong emphasis on both steel and HDPE piping fabrication and installation.

The role will also involve liaison with supply chain to forecast spares such as high head pumps and interaction with mine planning to manage up coming projects. Basic management of the electric power supply to the pumping stations will also fall to this position.

The successful candidate will hold a relevant diploma or degree and a minimum of eight years relevant experience focusing on pumps and project management.
