Job Description
Drill & Blast Engineer | North Africa | FIFO
The Role:
• Develop, review and implement best practice for all drilling and blasting activities.
• Control and management of the operating budget
• Monitor and report on daily and monthly progress.
• Control and manage all drilling activities including explosives magazine.
• Design and interpretation of blast designs
• Implement employee performance management processes to ensure optimum employee performance.
• Demonstrate high level of communication with the Mining Operations departments, Processing departments and other departments.
• Communicate with mine, corporate and community stakeholders to ensure successful and safe drilling & blasting operations.
• Ensure that activities are carried out in strict conformance with all company polices including of cultural, social, safety and environment.
• Proactively promote a positive Site safety and environment management culture.
The Person:

• 10+ years drill and blast experience.
• knowledge of Blast Design (Surpac) and Tie-Up plans.
• Prior experience in Explosives Magazine control and management demonstrated people leadership and ability to training and transfer skills
• Blasting Ticket
• Assist in training and upgrading the national workforce through successful skills transfer.
Working Conditions
FIFO based in North Africa

This opportunity requires an experienced Drill & Blast engineer who has worked in the mining sector in Africa.

Interviews are due to commence within three weeks with a flexible start date offered for the right candidate
