Job Description

Reporting to the LBI Lead, the Local Content Advisor coordinates the implementation of the local content action plans. This position supports the LBI Lead and Contracts Administrators in identifying and developing local suppliers and contractors potentially needed at TMLSA. The incumbent also executes risk assessment audits of local suppliers/contractors as required with a special focus on HSEQ in terms of local business development.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Support the LBI Lead in controlling the activities of local contractors

Ensure regular monitoring of contractors on site

Ensure the action plan is followed; budgets are on schedule and report any discrepancies    

Participate in audits of local contractors and suppliers    

Inform Management of any incident which may have an impact on TMLSA

Support local contractors and suppliers in addressing corrective actions for the regularization of non-compliance so they can continue to safely provide products and services to TMLSA without interruption

  2. Collaborate with the LBI Lead to organize training, mentorship    and business advice for local contractors   

Conducts audits/inspections of contractors on administration of personnel and business and financial management in reference to laws and regulations

Participate in the implementation of the strategy, quantified action plans and periodic supervision of the LBI budget Participate in the selection of companies, NGO’s and/or associations which will be selected by TMLSA to work on site    

 

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Supply Chain or similar area of responsibility.
  • Excellent understanding of local industries and products/services required to operate the mine
  • Excellent command of office software (Word, Excel PowerPoint, Access, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics/Supply Chain or equivalent would be an asset

Skills

  • Strong command of English and French, Arabic is a plus
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Preferably IRCA certified
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Individual is able to prioritize effectively, work within strict deadlines and align individual work with the organization’s business objectives
