Job Description: 
My client is currently seeking an experienced Wash Plant Manager to assist in the commissioning and management of their greenfield Zinc and Lead processing operations in Nigeria
 
Responsibilities:

  • Reporting into the Mine Manager and covering for him when on break
  • Monitor and manage 25tph concentrate wash plants
  • Monitor and improve wash plant performance, focused on throughput and recovery whilst maintaining con grade.
  • Provide technical input to the mine operations focused on ROM grade and blending opportunities to improve concentrator performance.
  • Ensure the process plant delivers the required concentrate tonnes in line with the execution plan
  • Manage concentrate loading operations to ensure effective and management of logistic contractor.
  • The wash plants are locally manufactured Yuba Jig and repurposed for processing the high grade zinc ore.
  • The individual will need to have some mechanical and metallurgical knowledge in developing the processing plant.
  • A second larger wash plant is under construction by the vendor, which will increase the total production tonnes above 3,000t per month of zinc concentrates.
  • The role for the candidate could evolve as the project progresses, to be involved with future studies into additional processing plants (DMS or Floatation) as the resource expands
  • Ensuring safe and effective mineral processing function to deliver the required concentrate tonnage at the approved grade, recovery and rate in accordance with the execution plan and project schedule and within budgeted costs.
  • Responsible for progress reporting, cost control and forecasting of the process plant.

 
Requirements: Qualification and Skill:

  • 10+ years' experience in minerals processing operations (ideally base metal floatation, alluvial gold/diamonds/tin wash plant)
  • Degree of diploma in metallurgical engineering
  • Preferable wash pant / jig processing experience
  • Exposure to international operations in a supervisory role.

 
Benefits and Contractual information:

  • 12 month employment with ability to increase for further twelve months.
  • USD net salary
  • 6 weeks on 3 weeks off roster.
