Truck Coordinator

Key Responsibilities:

* Be able to instill a sense of urgency to the team at all levels to respond to equipment breakdowns in an acceptable manner.
* Up-skill the available labour force so that the resource overall skill level matches the scheduling requirements.
* Ensure that equipment inspections are carried out to an acceptable level and followed up on to remove surprise major breakdowns.
* Following through on the results of failure investigations and ensuring warehouse inventory reflects the needs of the mining fleet.
* Ensuring that the FQM way and safety awareness message is well understood and accepted as the way we do work.
* Instill a culture of continuous improvement as opposed to maintaining status quo.
* Working with Suppliers and OEM's to ensure a win-win situation that provides the Cobre Panama team with appropriate on-going support.

* Liebherr T-284 and knowledge of trolley systems
* Large Ultra Class Electric drive truck


* A minimum of an appropriate trade certification and experience with Ultra-Class mining equipment including large mining trucks, water trucks, service trucks and other rubber tired units
* A degree qualification in a relevant discipline, Maintenance Management is highly regarded but not critical
* At least 5 years in a senior supervisory role.

Experience & Skills:

* A minimum of an appropriate trade certification and experience with heavy mining equipment
* At least 5 years (minimum) in a senior supervisory role.
* Previous experience in a large open pit mining operation would be well regarded.
* Previous experience working in different cultures for a substantial periods of time
* Demonstrable experience with maintenance management systems such as JDE will be an advantage.
* Sound knowledge of MS office
* Demonstrable experience with implementation of maintenance best practices on challenging sites
* Six Sigma or Lean Methodology exposures beneficial
* Aptitude for hands-on work coupled with strong analytical skills.
* Proven track record of supervision .Must have all necessary supervisory skills such as personnel management, budgeting time management, problem solving , and the ability to work as a team member.
* Strong focus on safety.
