The Role

Key Area: Proactive HR Business Partner to senior leaders and employees in the Corporate office.


Take a lead role in developing a sustainable relationship with the team/group/function.
Develop and execute relevant talent and organizational effectiveness strategies.
Act as the link or ‘liaison’ between Corporate Centers of Excellence (COEs) and their respective team(s) to ensure COE team(s) understand business requirements, adapt/evolve HR strategy, collectively problem solve, define objectives and accountability accordingly, and deliver timely results.
Create awareness of HR value to organization in anticipation of business requirements.
Raise awareness of issues requiring senior level attention to leaders, recommend and implement business solutions.
Provide leadership development and performance coaching.
Request regular performance feedback from respective team/group/function to ensure overall effectiveness.
Model organizational values, set the cultural tone and reinforce the Employee Brand.

Key Area: Actively partner with managers and Corporate COEs to drive the development and delivery of HR programs and services.


Maximize opportunities to engage leaders and employees through the implementation of HR strategies, policies, programs and initiatives.
Provide input to the design of HR programs and initiatives and ensure they are successfully implemented by utilizing an effective change management approach.
Provide project management to key HR initiatives; clearly define accountabilities and manage for results; and assemble appropriate resources to effectively deliver on objectives aligned with the HR Annual Operating Plan.
Forecast HR related expenditures and manage the budget and ongoing allocation of resources.

Key Area: Provide expert advice on current issues and emerging practices, technologies and methodologies.


Provide subject matter expertise to all employees in the areas of Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Talent Management (performance, career development and succession planning) and Employee Relations.
Maintain knowledge of best practices in Human Resources and related employment legislation; contribute to the development of policy; monitor the implementation of Human Resource strategies, policies and programs.
Provide training on policy updates and roll out to Corporate office as required.
Identify key Corporate office talent metrics, analyze trends and develop action plans to address.
Stay current on trends and make recommendations for applicability to IAMGOLD.


What we look for:

University degree preferably in Human Resources/Social Sciences/Business.

CHRP designation an asset.

8 - 10 years of Human Resources’ experience.

Experience in mining/natural resource industry or construction/engineering is an asset.

Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.

Sound knowledge and expertise in general HR practices and employment-related legislation.

Well developed counseling and mediation skills.

Superior oral and written communication and interpersonal skills; detail-oriented.

Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent time management and organizational skills.

Proactive and energetic customer service orientation with awareness to issues of equity and diversity.

Ability to interact with all levels of staff.
